Hi! I'm so thrilled that you've found me and am honored to share more about my journey and books. I've always loved creative projects, writing, drawing, painting, poetry and story-telling (in various ways), but picture books have definitely held a special place in my heart. From carrying my faves with me through college, cross-country moves, and into family life, I'm now on a journey of writing my own (often late at night)! Many of my stories are inspired by my experience as the daughter of immigrants and as a Filipina American. 

For my day job, I have a meaningful career focused on gender equity, social justice, and college student development as the Director of the Stanford Women's Community Center. It inspired me to start writing for children in the first place, along with the kiddos in my life. 

I'm a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and have participated in Julie Hedlund’s 12 x 12 Challenge, as well as numerous kidLit conferences, classes, and workshops. I hold degrees from UC Irvine (BA, Psychology, zot! zot!), the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (MA, Higher Education, Go BLUE!), and the University of San Francisco (Ed.D, Organization & Leadership in the School of Ed., !! 😅). I'm proud of my education (as my mom instilled), and also deeply believe in the learning and growth that life presents outside of the classroom. My aim is to infuse truth, love, and magic into all of my creative works.

Other fun facts about me:​ 
I love quotes, travel (which included circumnavigating the globe on a floating university), and most things chocolate. I live in the Bay Area with my partner, amazing kiddo, and our adorable mini-goldendoodle, and I'm obsessed with anything and everything teal or turquoise.
